Power squat rack and adjustable weight bench in a minimalist home gym

Synergee Power Rack & Bench Buying Guide: Which Rack and Which Bench Do You Need?

Synergee's two squat racks look like a straightforward price-to-space tradeoff — pay less, get a smaller rack. The numbers don't back that up. The Folding Squat Rack's cheapest configuration ($279.95) costs more than the Wall Mounted rack's cheapest ($219.95). Here's what that roughly $60 difference actually buys, and which of Synergee's three benches fits the training you're doing once you've picked a rack.

At a Glance: The Two Racks

Wall Mounted Squat Rack Folding Squat Rack
Price $219.95–$344.95 (24 configurations) $279.95–$389.95 (8 configurations)

Both racks share the same 750 lb-rated 16-gauge steel frame — confirmed on Synergee's own product page — so neither is the "heavier-duty" option. The difference is footprint and how many configuration choices you get, not strength.

The Wall Mounted Rack: more height and depth choices

The 2200 Series Wall Mounted Squat Rack gives you four height options (79" to 105") and three pull-up bar depths (12", 18", or 24"), plus a choice between a fixed pull-up bar or an adjustable one with optional floor mounts for added support. It stays extended from the wall at all times — there's no folding mechanism, so it doesn't reclaim floor space between sessions.

The Folding Rack: fewer choices, but it gets out of the way

The 2200 Series Folding Squat Rack only offers two height options (79" or 95") and two extended depths (21" or 41"), a narrower range than the Wall Mounted rack. In exchange, simple locking pins let the whole rack swing flush against the wall when you're done training. Its 2x2 uprights with 1" holes also accept rack accessories built to that spec — useful if you already own J-cup or safety-arm accessories from another 2x2 system.

Which rack should you get?

Want the lowest entry price and the most height and depth choices: the Wall Mounted Rack starts at $219.95 and gives you four height tiers instead of two.

Want the floor space back between sessions and don't mind fewer configuration choices: the Folding Rack is worth the roughly $60 higher starting price.

Working around a low ceiling: both racks' shortest option is 79" — see our low-ceiling power rack guide for how that compares to other brands.

Already own accessories built for a 2x2, 1"-hole rack: only the Folding Rack is compatible with them.

Once you've picked a rack, Synergee's three benches split by the lift they're built around rather than by price tier — the most expensive bench isn't the most capable, it's the most specialized.

Which bench should you get?

Want one bench for general flat, incline, and decline pressing with extra back support: the Adjustable Wing Back Bench ($299.95) is built for that.

Want the most adjustment positions at a lower price, plus wheels to move it: the Adjustable Incline Decline Bench ($199.95) covers 14 backrest and 3 seat positions.

Want a dedicated station for bicep isolation specifically: the Preacher Curl Bench ($159.95) is built for that. If floor space is tight, a preacher curl attachment for an existing bench may fit better instead.

FAQ

Is Home Fitness Supplies an authorized Synergee dealer?
Yes — we're an authorized dealer for Synergee and every other brand we carry.

Do the two racks really use the same weight capacity?
Yes. Both the Wall Mounted and Folding Squat Racks are built on the same 16-gauge steel frame rated to 750 lb, confirmed on Synergee's own product page. The folding mechanism doesn't reduce the rating.

Can I use my existing rack accessories with Synergee's racks?
Only with the Folding Squat Rack. Its 2x2 uprights with 1" holes accept accessories built to that spec; the Wall Mounted rack's listing doesn't note the same accessory compatibility.

Which bench should I buy for general pressing work?
The Adjustable Wing Back Bench ($299.95) adds wing-shaped back support across flat, incline, and decline positions. The Adjustable Incline Decline Bench ($199.95) covers more positions (14 back, 3 seat) at a lower price if you want finer adjustment. The Preacher Curl Bench ($159.95) is built specifically for isolating biceps, not general pressing.
